The AITPM Queensland Branch invites members and their guests to join us for breakfast at the Tattersall’s Club in Brisbane. At this time, Mr Russell Murray, Director of the Urban Congestion Task Force, Strategic Policy Group within the Department of Transport and Main Roads will be providing guests with an insight into some of the projects being undertaken by the State government. South east Queensland is a great place to live, work and play, with a great subtropical climate. It is Australia's fastest growing region and this growth has resulted in congestion, both on the region's roads and public transport system. Russell leads a specialised team, within the Department of Transport and Main Roads whose aim is to manage responses to congestion. The focus is the development of transport systems which meet economic, social and environmental objectives, whilst ensuring sustainable transport outcomes for all Queenslanders.
